Managing Agents & Block Management

If you manage a property, it's highly likely that you need a Reinstatement Cost Assessment (RCA)

A Reinstatement Cost Assessment (RCA) is crucial for determining the right amount of building insurance you need on all types of property from residential, commercial and industrial.  It estimates the cost of rebuilding your property in the event of significant damage or total loss.

We are highly experienced in conducting Reinstatement Cost Assessments (RCAs) and to ensure accuracy and compliance, we use the BCIS Software for preparing a "Day One Reinstatement".

This approach aligns with the guidelines set by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Practice Standards UK.

Managing Agents, Property Owners & Landlords

If you own or manage a property and are not sure if you need an RCA have a look at our checklist below

  • Insurance Coverage: Is your Insurance coverage correct? The only way to determine the right amount of building insurance you need is to have a up to date RCA. It estimates the cost of rebuilding your property in the event of significant damage or total loss. Without an accurate RCA, you could be underinsured.

  • Recent Changes to the Property: If you have made significant changes to your property, such as extensions or major renovations, it is a good idea to get a new RCA. These changes can significantly affect the cost of rebuilding the property.

  • Market Fluctuations: The cost of building materials and labour can fluctuate over time. If it is been a few years since your last RCA, it might be time for a new one to ensure your insurance coverage is still adequate.

  • Compliance with Lease Agreements: If you're a landlord or a property manager, your lease agreement might require you to carry out an RCA. This is to ensure that the property is adequately insured, protecting both you and your tenants.
